This Privacy Policy describes how CuentaTe (“we,” “us,” or “our”), represented by Daniela Maria Cardona, collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application, AI Money (the “App”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a personalized financial experience, seamless authentication, and AI-powered features, we collect specific types of data.
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: when you register or log in, we collect your name and email address to create and manage your account.
- User Profile & Preferences: we store specific preferences in our cloud database, such as your financial goals, country, default currency, language, and timezone.
- Category Preferences: your custom transaction categories (name and icon) may be stored in our cloud so they remain consistent across your devices when you have either AI Money Cloud or our WhatsApp integration enabled (see Section 4).
- Financial Data & AI Queries: your detailed transaction ledger is stored locally on your device by default. When you actively choose to use our AI assistant, we send your name and the specific date-range transactions you select to our AI service to fulfill your request. The AI only reads and processes the exact transactions you explicitly command it to analyze.
- Phone Number (WhatsApp Integration): if you opt to link your account with our WhatsApp assistant, we store your phone number in our cloud so messages you send the bot can be routed to your account.
- Communications and Feedback: when you contact us directly — for example, to request customer support, provide feedback, or suggest new features — we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and the contents of the message or attachments you send us. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiries, provide support, and analyze feedback to improve our App and services.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you access the App, certain data is collected automatically to ensure functionality, performance, and advertising:
- Device Identifiers: we collect device IDs (such as the Advertising ID) to support advertising services and user analytics.
- Usage Data: we track how you interact with the App, including screens viewed and button taps, to understand user behavior and improve the user experience.
- Diagnostics: we collect crash data and performance data to identify bugs and improve App stability.
- Coarse Location: your IP address may be used to estimate your general location (city/country) for analytics and to serve relevant advertisements.
- Camera and Photo Library: to facilitate expense tracking, you may choose to capture or upload images of physical receipts and invoices. We require access to your device’s camera or photo library solely for this purpose.
- Microphone and Audio Data: if you utilize voice features to log expenses or interact with the AI assistant, we require access to your device’s microphone to capture your voice commands.
2. How We Use Your Information
- App Functionality & Authentication: to verify your identity, manage your account, and sync your profile preferences across devices.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features: to provide you with smart financial insights. The specific transaction data and your name sent to the AI service are processed strictly to generate the response you requested for those specific dates.
- Multi-Device Sync (Optional): if you enable AI Money Cloud (available with Pro), we use our cloud to keep your transactions and categories synchronized across the devices where you sign in.
- Advertising: to display advertisements through a third-party advertising service. This allows us to offer the App for free.
- Analytics & Improvement: to analyze usage trends, fix crashes, and improve the overall performance of the App.
- Document Processing & Voice Inputs: we use the images of receipts you provide to extract relevant financial data (such as amounts and dates) to automate your expense entries. Audio data is used strictly to transcribe your voice commands into text for the AI assistant or to log transactions.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data. However, we share data with trusted third-party service providers required for the App’s operation. We confirm that any third party we share data with provides the same or equal protection of your data:
- OpenAI — third-party AI service: powers the AI financial assistant. When you request AI analysis, we explicitly send your provided name and the specific transaction logs you chose for a given date. This data is shared exclusively to generate a personalized financial response. - Google — cloud infrastructure: we use Google’s services for secure account authentication, cloud storage of your profile and (where enabled) your transactions, server logic, and diagnostic reporting. Google Privacy Policy

- Google AdMob — advertising: displays ads inside the App. AdMob may use device identifiers and coarse location data to show personalized ads. Google AdMob & Privacy
- Meta (WhatsApp) — messaging: delivers our optional WhatsApp assistant. When you link WhatsApp, messages you send to the assistant pass through Meta’s infrastructure. WhatsApp Privacy Policy
Images of receipts and voice recordings captured using your camera or microphone are processed on-device first — voice is transcribed locally by the operating system; only the resulting text (or, in the case of receipts, the image) is sent to the AI service to extract financial data.
4. Data Storage and Retention
AI Money is local-first. By default, your transaction ledger lives on your device and is never sent to our servers. You can enable optional cloud storage explicitly. The table below shows exactly where each piece of your data resides based on your plan and integrations:

AI Money Cloud (Pro)
Subscribers to AI Money Pro can enable AI Money Cloud, an optional service that continuously and automatically backs up your transactions and categories to our cloud so they stay in sync across every device where you sign in. AI Money Cloud is off by default: when you upgrade, we ask you once whether to enable it. You can toggle it on or off at any time from Profile → Data → AI Money Cloud.
WhatsApp Integration
When you link your phone number to our WhatsApp assistant, we store the following in our cloud so that incoming messages from your number can be routed to your account:
- Your phone number, in normalized international format.
- A flag indicating that your account is linked to WhatsApp.
- Your custom category names and icons, so the assistant can classify incoming messages consistently with how you use the App.
Messages you send to the WhatsApp assistant (text, audio transcriptions, and receipt images) are processed in real time to extract financial data. We do not store the raw messages, audio files, or images — only the resulting structured transaction (amount, category, title, date) is saved in your account, where it is tagged with the source whatsapp.
Retention Windows
- Local data: retained on your device until you delete it manually or uninstall the App.
- AI Money Cloud (Pro active): retained while your subscription is active.
- AI Money Cloud after Pro ends: if your Pro subscription expires and you do not renew, your cloud copy is preserved for 6 months to give you time to reactivate. After that grace period, non-WhatsApp transactions are removed automatically. Transactions created via the WhatsApp bot are always preserved as historical records while your account remains active and your WhatsApp number stays linked.
- If you disable AI Money Cloud manually: your cloud copy is preserved for 30 days in case you change your mind, and then removed automatically. You can re-enable AI Money Cloud during the 30 days to cancel the removal.
- iCloud Backup (iOS only, user-controlled): when AI Money Cloud is off, you can optionally back up your local data to your personal iCloud. This is governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy practices; we never read your iCloud data.
- WhatsApp data: if you unlink WhatsApp, your phone number is removed from your account profile. Bot-created transactions remain in your account ledger as historical records.
- Account deletion: you may request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data at any time from Profile → Account. Local data on your device must be removed by uninstalling the App.
5. Security
We value your trust in providing us your personal information and we use commercially acceptable means to protect it. All communication between the App and our servers (or third-party services) is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols. Cloud-stored data is protected by security rules that restrict reads and writes to the authenticated owner of the data. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our servers.
7. Your Data Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request the correction of inaccurate data.
- Request the deletion of your account and cloud-stored data.
- Opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings.
- Choose whether to enable cloud sync (AI Money Cloud) at all.
To exercise these rights, please contact us or use the “Delete Account” feature within the App settings.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
